Is anyone else irritated beyond human
comprehension at those Saturn commercials where
Julie gets her first new car? Or any Saturn
commercial, as a matter of fact. And what's this
shit they keep ejecting out of their foul little
holes about Saturn being "a new type of Company"?
It's a fucking subsidiary branch of General
Motors, for God's sake! It's the same old shit
served in a fresh, sterile package!

Hap, boy, am I glad you joined in. Getting a first car is a thrill. Getting a new car is a thrill. But, jesus, if dealership staff treated me like that I'd think they were all nuts and try to get a car through mail order.

Please forgive Saturn. It's just that they're stuck in the '80 were everything was just so fucking special.

Yeah but doesn't Julie just look so vulunerable and sweet. Exactly the gullible sort of person they hope will continue to wander into the showroom.`

FBI Launches Raid On Saturn Compound

My parents bought a Saturn, and couldn't get to the dealership until about 7:30pm to pick it up. After they got done doing the paperwork on the car they specially ordered just for themselves. The salesman walks up LITERALLY throws my dad the keys, and says your car should be out front somewhere, and says "Thanks a bunch". Then he walks away. Knowing my parents they probably did not haggle a bunch, not that you are supposed to be able to at a saturn dealership. They are no haggle one price etc, etc. God I should go into marketing.

These commericals use an emotional ploy to hide the fact the car really sucks. If it was a good product, they wouldn't have to rely on lame features like daytime running lights or stupid commercials.

Fuckin-A right! What about the stupid ass way they portray their workers in the plants in those so called "In Factory Commercials"? :

Worker: "I noticed that the quarter panel didn't match the bumper color properly, so I stopped the whole line!"

Yeah, then your dumb ass was at the unemployment office the next day. I am an Auto worker (FORD) and I know that in the UAW contract (not just with Ford, but with all auto manufacturers) that is called "Willfull Stoppage of Production". You'll find it listed under "Terminable Offences".

It's pretty much standard in the auto industry regardless of the manufacturer that for every minute an assembly line is down, it costs the company between $15,000 - $25,000 depending on the model of car they are making. Lets say a Saturn is a $15,000 loss. You don't think the plant manager would be too pissed do you? That's why all assembly plants have "Repair Lots" Fuck-o, so your ignorant ass doesn't have to shut the whole fucking plant down because the paint is mis-matched! Don't be fooled into thinking they (or we) care that God damn much. It's cheaper to pay some drunkard $22 an hour to change the bumper out back.

Don't fall into that "we care" bullshit. Also, when is the last time any Tom, Dick, or Harry could just wander into a car plant and take a tour? We have to use ID badges to get into ours, and we work there! If this really happens, let me know! I'd like to get tours going in my plant so my wife could join one each day and bring me a hot meal.
