Fuckin-A right! What about the stupid ass way they portray their workers in the plants in those so called "In Factory Commercials"? :
Worker: "I noticed that the quarter panel didn't match the bumper color properly, so I stopped the whole line!"
Yeah, then your dumb ass was at the unemployment office the next day. I am an Auto worker (FORD) and I know that in the UAW contract (not just with Ford, but with all auto manufacturers) that is called "Willfull Stoppage of Production". You'll find it listed under "Terminable Offences".
It's pretty much standard in the auto industry regardless of the manufacturer that for every minute an assembly line is down, it costs the company between $15,000 - $25,000 depending on the model of car they are making.
